HIKE OR BIKE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following is the terms of the agreement between Hike or Bike and each of our customers. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not procure the services of Hike or Bike, so please review these terms carefully. If you have any questions about them please contact Hike or Bike.
You enter into this agreement with Hike or Bike when we receive full payment from you, for a bespoke itinery for your stay in Luchon. Terms and Conditions for 'The Loft' accommodation can be found on the booking website.
LIABILITIES
You accept that hiking, running and road cycling are dangerous activities and they can cause serious injury or death.
Hike or Bike routes take place in an outdoor/ mountainous environment and are, by their very nature, not free from risk. Hike or Bike make every effort to minimise the risk to the customer(s) and take into account the demographics of your group, and their fitness levels. Consequently, while all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers, because the activities take place in an outdoor/mountain environment the customer(s) must be aware, understand and agree that there are inherent dangers and certain unpredictability accompanying the activities. The customer(s) accepts responsibility for such risks to personal safety.
Hike or Bike will not be liable for any injury that results from one of the routes provided. The customer(s) acknowledges that other loss, damage and expense including, without limitation, loss of money, loss or damage to clothes, equipment and possessions, losses arising from the cancellation of a booking and the expenses of delay or harm caused is not the responsibility of Hike or Bike and that Hike or Bike’s liability is hereby limited.
All clients must obey the safety instructions on routes and diversions. Clients agree not to act in any way that compromises the safety, enjoyment, or well-being of themselves or others.
Hike or Bike recommends all participates seek doctors advice before undertaking any strenuous activity.
Bespoke plans can be adapted for under 18's, this must be outlined prior to the trip. All under 18's must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult from the group.
Cancellation policy for accommodation can be found on www.airbnb.co.uk.
Bespoke plans can be cancelled 28days before travel day for full 100% refund. 50% refund less than 28days.
PAYMENT
All bookings for 'The Loft' are made through booking website. Accommodation bookings made at 'The Loft' receive a free bespoke plan. Accommodation bookings elsewhere, the bespoke plan cost £25. Bank transfer or cheque to be paid in full, a minimum of 28 days before your visit.
Bank details and address for cheques will be sent via email.
CANCELLATION
(a) Cancellation of a Bespoke plan by a customer is only effective when received by Hike or Bike in writing by email. Email cancellations to: hikeorbike@hotmail.com. Phone cancellations will still require written confirmation. Phone number is 07787 501309
Cancellation charges will be scaled as follows:
TRAVEL INSURANCE & PERSONAL INSURANCE
It is recommended that the customer(s) take out personal insurance and Travel Insurance
Hike or Bike will not be held liable for any compensation, damages, expenses, costs, losses or any other amount of any description or otherwise.
In the unlikely event that the customer(s) has/have cause for complaint about Hike or Bike the complaint should be made in writing.
PROMOTIONAL OFFERS
Hike or Bike promotions using Facebook & Instagram, vouchers, leaflets or reference numbers for discounted plans provided by Hike or Bike will be limited to one use per person. Discount vouchers, reference numbers or leaflets may only be used once.
BIKE HIRE
Hike or Bike will provide details of bike hire shops available. Bookings are necessary to reserve bikes. In the peak season you will need to book in advance especially when cycling events are on. Hike or Bike accept no responsibility for bike hire.
Points to note when 'renting-a-bike' you will have to:
Be responsible for the bike, at all times, until it is returned to respective shop.
If you rent a bike the shop will expect you to:
1. Show a valid ID (passport or drivers licence) and sign a rental contract.
2. Pay a bond when renting a bike.
3. Make sure you have travel insurance and check the policy before you leave (if it covers theft or damage of a rental bike).
4. Lock your bike to any pole/fence or something secure.
5. Return a clean and undamaged bike.
6. Use the rental bike for what it has been designed for.
7. Use a bike helmet
8. Be courteous to other road users and give way to pedestrians on zebra crossings.
Hike or Bike recommend that you take out travel insurance when you plan to rent a bike in the event that you have to cancel or in case you rental bike becomes damaged or lost (theft). Not all insurance policies include this option, therefore it's best to ask and to pay that little extra for insurance cover.
